ayuttaya - one of the capitals of thailand

through the many years, as the thai kingdom has been changing, the ancient city of ayuttaya was once the capital. the many run down structures are still very beautiful and amazing.

the summer palace

The summer palace was a funny mix of french chateaus, thai, and chinese temples.

tuk, tuk, massage, t-shirt, some fake thai jewelery?

the markets were fun, but very much an overload of the senses. there were people everywhere trying to get you to buy, buy, buy. we did our tourist job and bought a few things along with trying the fried grasshoppers. not bad!

the grand palace is grandious

this palace is one of the main attractions in bangkok and used to house the king. it is very large and seems to hold an infinite number of tourists. And we were one of them.

more of its grandness

yes very big, gold, and grand.

wat pho

a wat is the thai name for a temple. these beautiful wats are everywhere. wat pho is a massive temple that has the famous reclining buddha.

more wat pho

yeah, it's huge.

dragon boats to the extreme

if you are a fan of dragon boats the thailand royal barges are amazing. they are dragon boats decked out with beautiful carvings, gold, and even cannons. and they're huge, some hold up to 80 paddlers.

national museum of thailand

this museum had great history and helped me understand the many kings that have helped thailand become the country it is today.

the sunset is ours

this was probably one of the most amazing sunsets i have seen in my life. not for the sunset itself, but for the solitude. it felt as if we were the only people getting to see this sunset.

yeah for clear blue waters!

On Koh Samet we had a chance to go snorkeling and I got to see many fish. fish here, fish there, yellow fish, blue fish, so many fishes.

our resort

the place we stayed on koh samet was wonderful. it was very tropical and right on the beach. we could walk right down and swim in the beach whenever we wanted.

thailand-the beach at koh samet

it was a tropical paradise, and we loved it.
